Last week, the 3dRudder was integrated in Fortnite via the accessibility options. This represents another step made by the game studio Epic Games towards Accessibility as players with limited upper limb mobility can now play with one hand with great ease. But how does it work exactly on PlayStation 4? Find the answer below!
PLAYING FORTNITE ON PLAYSTATION 4
1 – Playing Fortnite with the 3dRudder it’s as easy as Plug and Play! To play with the 3dRudder, connect the 3dRudder to your PlayStation 4 via USB.
2 – Launch Fortnite and access to the Central Hub of the game.
3 – Press the “Options” button on your gamepad to open the settings of the game.
4 – Go to the “Accessibility” section.
5 – Activate the “Enable Rudder Controller” option. You can now move in the game using your feet!
6 – In order to access all the indispensable controls with only one hand, you must customize your controls like below. You’ll thus be able to use only the right (or the left) side of your gamepad.
This tutorial illustrates the mapping for people playing with their right hand but you can also transfer all the controls to the left side of the Dualshock 4 controller. The following mapping, after being tested by our team, seems to be more ergonomic to play with one hand, but many winning combinations exist. Feel free to custom your gamepad according to what fits best for you!
