The VR Museum of Fine Art

Visiting this museum with the 3dRudder is larger than life

The VR Museum of Fine Arts is an amazing VR experience. If you are an art or history lover, then it’s definitely for you. Finn Sinclair, the developer behind it, made sure it looks like real, and the result is remarkable. As an exclusive visitor of this virtual exhibit, you will have as much time as you wish to wander about with nobody else pushing behind you. The plus of experiencing it with the 3dRudder? You can get so close to the paintings you can see the cracks in the polish. You can explore the artworks from a never-seen- before angle, and when it comes to the status, turning around David the giant from bottom to top is something that will let you want to see more.

Without the 3dRudder

The VR Museum of Fine Arts is available for free on Steam for the HTC Vive. It gathers together pieces of art from all over the world, like the sculptures of Amenhotep III Tomb Statue, The Terracotta Army of Chinese soldiers, paintings like the Mona Lisa and The Birth of Venus, and many others. This experience can be played either at room-scale or seated, and you have to use teleportation to hop from one place to the other, the museum being so big you can’t just walk. Besides the teleportation thing that is kind of hectic, the thing is, you see the artworks as in a real museum: you can’t get too close, and you just can peer from your standing point of view. Now try it with the 3dRudder and discover things you could not even have imagined.

With the 3dRudder

The purpose of the 3dRudder to offer free locomotion to any virtual reality experience takes all its sense. Restrictions days of teleportation and room-scale are gone. The 3dRudder gives you the freedom to cross the museum rope limit all while comfortably seated. You can walk the aisles seamlessly, approach the artworks at your pace, go up and peer at the 12 feet paintings from bottom to top, literally turn around the giant status and discover all the curving details from an exceptional point of view. Now that’s what virtual reality is about: making the experience larger than life, and that’s what the 3dRudder enables you to achieve.
