Doom VFR

Let the 3dRudder give you more power

Doom VFR was released on the 1st of December with teleportation-dash only, and we at 3dRudder have been working hard on introducing free locomotion with our foot-controller. And guess what? YES, you now can have foot-powered free locomotion in Doom VFR AND combine it with hand-driven actions to launch grenades and shoot big guns AND use teleportation to wipe out weakened enemies. This ability to multi-task like a superhero probably makes the 3dRudder the best motion controller for Doom VFR.

Without the 3dRudder

Doom VFR is not a mere VR upgrade of the Doom license. Doom VFR was developed exclusively for VR, and is a new episode in itself. Fans of fast-paced FPS games will be able to eviscerate and exterminate legions of demons in virtual reality in what seems to be the most brutal, and enjoyable FPS in VR to this day. Exciting! The developers though made the choice to only use teleportation (which enables the player to hop around and/or finish up weakened enemies) and dashes (forward, backward, left and right) as native locomotion options, and this choice has been far from satisfying the game’s and/or VR addicts who feel the game calls for a free locomotion option. Well, we do feel the same.
That’s why 3dRudder developed a free locomotion solution for Doom VFR.

With the 3dRudder

We at 3dRudder created a free locomotion solution for Doom VFR. And, after 1 week playing with the sole combination of teleportation-dashes, we can say it’s a game changer.
3dRudder’s free locomotion solution for Doom VFR enables what’s required to fully enjoy a great FPS: you can walk, run, dodge, retreat, and turn around to confront your enemies. The 3dRudder being a foot-powered controller assigning motion management to your feet makes you gain tremendous fire power and gives you the ability to simultaneously move, teleport to wipe out enemies and shoot guns. Both your hands are dedicated to slaughtering demons with grenades and bad-ass big guns. And since you operate the 3dRudder while seated, everybody can play at home easily with no need for extra dedicated space, nor having issue with cable management. And we promise that once you’re in the game and empowered with free locomotion, immersion is at its best.
You’re going to have a great VFR time!
