War Robots VR: the Skirmish

War Robots VR: the Skirmish is a delightful mech game. Short and at the same time so immersive. Well, we played War Robots VR with the 3dRudder motion controller and we had so much fun. With its foot controls, the 3dRudder lets you move in a natural and intuitive way while your hands are free for interaction.

Without the 3dRudder

Pixonic, the studio behind War Robots VR: the Skirmish, explains that their "ambition is to let players all over the world try what it’s like to sit in a cockpit of a giant robotic warrior and take part in an all-out war". And it's a success: the game has an impressive positive rating on Steam. So here you are in the cockpit of your huge mech-self, armed with deadly weapons you can fire at other mechs. The thing is, your hands must deal with movement + action. Not that easy.

With the 3dRudder

When we played War Robots VR: The Skirmish with the 3dRudder controller and the HTC Vive, it all got very natural. We were comfortably seated in our brand new gaming chair, our feet resting on the 3dRudder and our hands equipped with the wand controllers. We could move our robot with agility just by tilting the 3dRudder the way we wanted to go and the great thing is our hands were freed up for interaction -well, shooting! It's not only natural but also very convenient, and adds another layer of intensity.

How to set it up?

War Robots VR: The Skirmish is compatible both with Oculus and HTC Vive in Steam VR. It's very easy to get started with the 3dRudder:
1- Open the 3dRudder Dashboard and go the games tab
2- Select the VR headset you're using: HTC Vive or Oculus Rift
3- Select the configuration for War Robots VR and click on Activate game settings to send the parameters to your 3dRudder

Please note that if you're playing with the Oculus Rift, you need to start the game before activating the games configuration.

Have a nice match!
