3DRudder has been named a CES 2016 Innovation Awards Honoree for the 3DRudder “VR Edition” controller in the Gaming Hardware and Accessories category. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 27 product categories.

The 3DRudder “VR Edition” is a feet-based VR motion controller, used while seated. It enables users to move in virtual worlds for work or gaming with their feet while seated in their favorite chair or couch. Their hands are free to grab, push, shoot, pull… This new controller is particularly important as the advent of virtual reality makes irrelevant existing gaming controllers such as the gamepad.

To use the 3DRudder the user just rests her feet on it. One sentence is enough to explain the basic movements “Just tilt the device forward to move forward in the game”. One more sentence to explain how to move up or down. And the user finds on her own how to go backward, strife right or left, rotate to the right or to the left… It’s absolutely natural to her.

In total a typical user will understand how to use the 3DRudder in a matter of a few seconds and become a pro in less than a minute. Quickly she will forget she’s moving or even flying with her feet and will feel ever more immersed in virtual reality.

The 3DRudder is available for pre-orders for US$175/175€ at www.3drudder.com and will start shipping in the first quarter of 2016.

The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)TM, the producer of CES 2016, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.

The 3DRudder “VR Edition” controller will be displayed at CES 2016, which runs January 6-9, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace and unique/novel features present.

Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.

CES 2016 Innovation Honoree products are featured on CESweb.org/Innovation, which lists product categories, as well as each product name, manufacturer information, description, photo and URL.
